Have you noticed how people on a poor diet find it easier to stick to junk food than to eat a more balanced diet?
It is the same with our minds. Nothing is wrong with a little Netflix, but when we binge-watch it, the habit grows, and it becomes easier to watch nonsense than engage our minds.
So, too, with our spirits. If we neglect the Word, it becomes easier to overlook it. Sunday becomes an oasis where we stock up on God and then return to our spiritual deserts, like Christian camels, wandering aimlessly until the next church oasis.
It should go without saying, but no two people or churches are the same.
There is no cookie-cutter approach.

Just as Jesus mentored his disciples, Christian coaching provides a framework for accountability in one’s spiritual journey. By partnering with a mentor or coach, individuals commit to regular meetings where they can discuss their spiritual growth, reflect on their practices, and receive guidance in aligning their lives with Christ’s teachings.
Goal-Oriented Discipleship:
Like Paul’s guidance to Timothy, a Christian mentor helps set specific goals for spiritual development and discipleship. Together, mentor and mentee create a roadmap for growth, incorporating prayer, study of scripture, and acts of service. This intentional approach ensures that individuals stay focused on deepening their relationship with God and living out their faith in practical ways.
Scriptural Guidance and Support:
Drawing from biblical wisdom, a Christian mentor offers guidance rooted in scripture and the teachings of Jesus. Through prayerful discernment and study, mentors help mentees navigate life’s challenges, make decisions in alignment with God’s will, and grow in their understanding of God’s love and grace.
Lifelong Discipleship Journey:
Discipleship is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey of transformation. Just as Jesus walked alongside his disciples, Christian mentors provide ongoing support and encouragement as individuals mature in their faith. Through regular meetings, prayer, and study, mentors help mentees deepen their commitment to Christ and live as faithful followers in all aspects of life.
